FORT WORTH, Texas -- Seniors Ronnie Baker and Brianna McGhee of track and field have been named TCU Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week after impressive performances.
McGhee, a native of Omaha, Neb., broke an 11-year-old school record in the 60-meter hurdles at the season opener in College Station. Her time of 8.26 bested MaKeatha Cooper's previous record of 8.30, which was set on Feb. 28, 2004.
Baker, the defending NCAA 60 Meter Champion, had the best season-opening performance of his career on Saturday. The Louisville, Ky. native recorded a first-place time of 6.61. Baker currently holds the fastest 60-meter time in the nation after the first week of meets.
The track and field teams will return to action when they travel to College Station on Jan. 15 for the Texas A&M Team Invite.
