Dec. 17, 2015 BOWL TICKET ALLOCATION
Over the past couple weeks, I have been asked by many fans how bowl tickets are allocated and I thought it would make sense to more fully explain the process here.
First, it starts with a site visit at the host venue upon accepting the invitation from the bowl committee. This year, for example, our ticket office, Frog Club and football game operations staff flew to San Antonio within hours of the announcement. In addition to addressing in-game operations, this team is responsible for allocating bowl tickets.
After walking the stadium and identifying the seats the bowl has provided us, they then establish the order in which the sections, rows and seats will be allocated based on previous donor feedback and preferences as well as input from the bowl committee on its past experiences with visiting teams and their fans. Finally, we assign seats by using the most recent Horned Frog Priority Points rankings starting with the highest-ranked points holder, then the second-highest, and so forth and so on until all ticket requests have been fulfilled.
Each bowl game predetermines the allotment each team will receive and allocates it according to different internal policies. Our allotment this year began on the 15-yard line and wrapped around the end zone.
I fully understand what one person might consider the "best" seat available, might not be considered that by another. I also understand that some fans are disappointed with their specific seat locations. I assure you that we make every effort to allocate these tickets fairly based on previous feedback and on our season ticket holder behavior at Amon G. Carter Stadium regarding sight lines, vantage points, yard lines and just about every other way of assessing seat locations.
Please continue to send us your feedback as we strive to improve from year to year.

GRAND OPENING!
The Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena is open! We enjoyed an outstanding dedication Tuesday and are now excited for the opening games Sunday. As we've stated from the beginning, this new facility is for all of TCU. There's not a better and more appropriate first event in the building than Saturday's graduation ceremony. We'll have 39 student-athletes taking part in commencement.

SUNDAY TWINBILL
Please make sure to drop by the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena Sunday for our historic opening games. The men host Abilene Christian at 1 p.m., while the women face Southern Utah at 3:30 p.m.

NEW OFFICES
With the opening of the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena, our Frog Club, ticket, compliance, marketing, media relations and IMG offices, along with equestrian, golf, soccer, track and field and volleyball, have moved in. Please feel free to drop by and visit everyone to see their new digs.
HONOR ROLL
Congratulations to Josh Doctson on being a unanimous consensus first-team All-American! It's great to see Josh recognized for the special season he's had for us. A former Bleacher Creature, Josh is our fifth consensus All-American in the last eight seasons.

Trevone Boykin and Jaden Oberkrom are second-team All-Americans with Derrick Kindred honorable mention.
It was also nice to have volleyball collecting postseason honors as Ashley Smith, Regan McGuire and Natalie Gower earned All-Big 12 and AVCA All-Southwest Region recognition. Additionally, Ashley was honorable-mention All-American.
GREAT PERFORMANCES
A special shout out to track and field's Brianna McGhee! She broke an 11-year-old TCU record in the 60-meter hurdles with a first-place time of 8.26 at the Reveille Invitational in College Station.

COMPLIANCE CORNER
TRUE OR FALSE?
Football student-athletes participating in a postseason bowl game must complete six hours of academic credit regardless of whether the bowl game takes place during the holiday break or during the institution's next regular academic term (e.g., spring semester).
This is true. (Adopted: 4/28/05 effective 8/1/05, Revised: 12/12/06, 1/8/07 effective 8/1/07, 4/26/07 effective 8/1/07, 7/31/14)
