Sophomore Bailey Sullivan completed the women's 6,000-meter race with a career-best time of 21:15.6, finishing 46th. Sullivan shattered her previous record by nearly 30 seconds.
"Bailey had her best race of the season and looked especially strong," said coach Jennifer Fazioli. "Between this and conference, she was able to finish her season on a high note."
Freshman Brenley Goertzen finished with a career-best 22:01.8 in her third race of the season. Goertzen improved on her previous 6K time by more than a minute.
"I thought Brenley took another step forward," said Fazioli. "It still was only her third race of the cross country season, and she is still adjusting to the 6K distance. There is more there than she's showing, and that will come with more experience."
Sophomore Nicole Hicks also competed for TCU and finished at 22:40.3.
Sophomore Dillon Smith represented the men's team in College Station, Texas for the men's 10,000-meter race. In his first 10K race of his career, Smith earned a time of 33:35.5.
The Horned Frogs look to continue the improvements made this year with a young team that gained important experience during the 2015 season.
"Having a full team compete at Regionals next year will only aid these individual performances and will continue the growth of the women's distance program."
