"Kansas has a really good team," head coach Richard Sybesma said. "Our team performed well, but we just came up short."
TCU earned four first-place times against No. 48 Kansas.
"I'm very pleased with how our teams competed against one of the top teams in the conference," said Sybesma.
The Horned Frogs responded to four Jayhawk victories with two top times in the 100-yard breaststroke. Sophomore Devin Newton finished with a first-place time of 1:04.58. Lindsay Shabet, a sophomore from Katy, Texas, followed at 1:05.40, earning second place.
Senior Kristen Connolly recorded a total of 18 points for TCU in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives after earning top scores of 258.97 and 270.60, respectively. Connolly has placed first in four diving events this year.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Shabet placed first with a final time of 2:19.59. Junior Ashley Dyke followed suit with a second-place time of 2:22.12.
"Our girls dove really well on the diving boards and swam hard in the pool," said Sybesma. "We just came up short."
Up next for the Frogs is a Nov. 6 contest in Ames, Iowa against Iowa State and South Dakota.
