Oct. 22, 2015 THE PHOTO
Trevone Boykin is a special young man and non-football fans across America have now become aware of him. I'm sure you've seen the photo of Trevone reaching out to the young girl during the coin toss at last weekend's Iowa State game. CLICK HERE to read a nice recap from the Star-Telegram, including quotes from family members on what Trevone's act of kindness has meant to them.

WATCHING THE FROGS
The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex loves watching the TCU Horned Frogs! As you might recall, our back-to-back contests against Texas Tech and Texas were the top-rated college football games for those weekends in the DFW television market, which ranks No. 5 in the nation.
Our impressive 7.0 rating against Texas Tech was actually topped with a 7.1 for the game at Kansas State. The TV numbers have shown that we are truly Fort Worth and The Metroplex's home team. We can't thank you enough for your support!

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
As a reminder, next Thursday's 6:30 p.m. home football game with West Virginia is a Black Out.
We are also asking everyone to show their Halloween spirit by decorating and bringing TCU pumpkins to Frog Alley. After you decorate your pumpkin to support the Horned Frogs, please drop it off at the TCU Tent in Frog Alley between 1 and 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. We'll then have all the TCU pumpkins on display in Frog Alley the next day.
We still have a limited number of tickets available for the game. Please CLICK HERE, drop by our Ticket Office or call 817-257-3764 (FROG).

HORNED FROG CLASSIC RECAP
Monday's 37th-annual Horned Frog Classic set all-time highs with 228 contestants, 15 new sponsors and nearly $300,000 for scholarships for TCU student-athletes. Our men's and women's golf programs made their traditional appearances on the course and at the Awards Dinner. Many thanks to title sponsor Greenwood Office Outfitters for its continued support as well as Colonial Country Club, our host and great partner. It was a great day, and we appreciate all the players and volunteers who make this special event possible each year.
DUCK DYNASTY GOES FROGS UP
It was great to receive the below photo from Tom Burke. Following our Oct. 10 victory at Kansas State, Tom ran into Duck Dynasty star Justin Martin in the Kansas City airport. Thanks to Tom, we were able to discover that Justin also loves the Horned Frogs!

ON THE DOCKET
Even though football has an open week, there's still plenty of activity on tap for the Horned Frogs.
Congrats to our volleyball program on its win over Baylor Wednesday night! Equestrian and soccer also face Baylor in home activities Friday. Soccer's 7 p.m. game versus the Bears is Faculty/Staff Night. The first 150 TCU faculty/staff members at the game will receive a free ticket, hot dog, chips and drink. Sunday's 1 p.m. home soccer contest with Oklahoma is Senior Day with pregame recognitions beginning at 12:45. The first 100 fans to Friday and Sunday's games will receive a free vuvuzela.

On Sunday, rifle, ranked third nationally, hosts Nebraska while women's golf begins play at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio. We'll also have women's tennis competing in the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championships in College Station.
SPANNING THE GLOBE
A great honor recently went to loyal Horned Frog Bruce Hunt, who's also a director of Legacy Texas Bank. Bruce's group rang the Nasdaq opening bell Tuesday, Oct. 7. Bruce had the below photo shown on the outdoor video monitors in Times Square.

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last week's answer: My friend TCU Doug in Alabama supplied the following Michael Caine line from "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels": "I finally came to the frustrating conclusion that I had taste and style, but not talent."

This week's question: "Failure is not an option."
COMPLIANCE CORNER
The men's basketball coaches at Ocean State University are planning out their preseason practice schedule to make sure they do not exceed the 30-day limit. Do the coaches only include practices in the 30-day limit or do they have to include all countable athletically-related activities (CARA)?
All CARA counts against the 30-day limit. NCAA Bylaw 17.3.2.1 states that an institution shall not commence on-court preseason basketball practice sessions before the date that is 42 days before the date of the institution's first regular-season contest. An institution shall not engage in more than 30 days of countable athletically-related activities before its first regular-season contest. Any countable athletically-related activities (e.g., conditioning, skill-related instruction) that occur within the 42-day period shall count against the 30 days of countable athletically-related activities.
