NEW FACES
We're glad to welcome Erik Peterson to TCU as the first head coach of our new sand volleyball program. Erik, who will work under director of volleyball Jill Kramer, comes to us after serving as an assistant coach the last three seasons with the indoor volleyball program at Oklahoma. Erik has also been heavily involved with USA Sand Volleyball since 2007.

TENNIS IS ROLLING
Congratulations to our men's and women's tennis programs on their outstanding play at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in College Station. David Roditi's men's team opened play by defeating host and 10th-ranked Texas A&M, 4-2, on Saturday before a 4-1 Sunday win over LSU. The women, under first-year head coach Lee Taylor Walker, blanked Houston, 4-0, and won 4-2 over the No. 11 Aggies. Both squads have advanced to the ITA National Indoor Team Championships and cracked the top 20 in the ITA rankings. The men are 18th with the women 20th.

ON THE DOCKET
Men's basketball hosts No. 9 Kansas tonight at 8 p.m. at Wilkerson-Greines. The game is sold out. The men will then travel to Iowa State for a Saturday afternoon contest. Before watching the Super Bowl, you can catch our women's basketball team in action on Sunday at noon when it hosts Texas in the Rec Center.

Men's and women's swimming and diving has its final home meet of the season and Senior Night on Friday at 6 p.m. versus North Texas. Track and field returns to action Saturday at the New Mexico Invitational in Albuquerque, while rifle heads to Lincoln, Neb., to compete against Nebraska and Navy. Women's tennis is at Alabama on Saturday at 5 p.m. Men's tennis will be represented this weekend at the Challenger of Dallas 100K Pro Circuit Event.
NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Doug Strout '91, our Horned Frog in Alabama, submitted the great line from Casino Royale, "I believe in a reasonable rate of return."

This Week: "The animal doesn't even have thumbs."
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Dub L. Team is a basketball prospect interested in enrolling at Ocean State University (OSU) next year. Dub was supposed to take an official visit yesterday and today on OSU's campus. Due to inclement weather, OSU cancelled all official visits. Unfortunately, the coaches were not able to contact Dub prior to him getting on his flight. Dub was met at the airport by one of the assistant coaches and immediately returned home. Given the circumstances, will Dub be permitted to reschedule an official visit with OSU?
Yes. NCAA Staff interpretation - 2/10/89 - Prospect permitted additional official visit after the initial visit was canceled - states that in regard to an institution that canceled its expense-paid visits during a particular weekend due to inclement weather and attempted to notify each prospect of this decision, noting that one prospective student-athlete did not receive notification, was met at the airport in the institution's home community by one of the institution's coaches and immediately returned home; determined that inasmuch as the prospective student-athlete never visited the institution's campus or home community, the institution still would be permitted to provide that prospect with an official visit (including round-trip air transportation) to the member institution with the understanding that the contact at the airport between the coach and the prospect would count as one of the institution's three permissible off-campus contacts with that prospect per Bylaw 13.1.4.4-(b).
