OMAHA!
Let's hear it for those Horned Frogs on the diamond! Congratulations to our student-athletes, head coach Jim Schlossnagle, his staff and everyone associated with our baseball program on the tremendous accomplishment of reaching the College World Series for the second time in five seasons. A special tip of the cap goes to all of you who were able to make it to Charlie and Marie Lupton Baseball Stadium and Williams-Reilly Field. You truly created a home-field advantage for us, while the national audience on ESPN was able to see how we set the standard when it comes to a collegiate baseball environment.

CWS TICKET INFO
Due to the tremendous demand from our baseball season-ticket holders and TCU students, we are completely sold out of our College World Series ticket allotment. We were provided an extremely limited number of tickets from the NCAA to allocate to our season-ticket holders. If you are still looking for tickets, please try the official NCAA selling website at www.flashseats.com.

BIG 12 STRONG
Congratulations as well to the baseball programs at Texas and Texas Tech on also reaching the College World Series. It's great to be joined in Omaha by our Big 12 brethren. No other conference in the country can lay claim to having three teams in the CWS.
WELCOME TO TCU
We're very excited to announce the hiring of Lee Taylor Walker as our new head women's tennis coach. Lee comes to us after serving the last seven seasons as head coach at Memphis. He took over a program that had never had a winning season and was 1-17 prior to his arrival. Lee quickly transformed the Tigers into a fixture in the national rankings and a postseason squad. His teams have also thrived academically, as evidenced by a 3.9 grade-point average this past semester. During his collegiate days, Lee was a standout student-athlete for the Memphis men's tennis program. Please join me in welcoming Lee and his wife, Erin, to our TCU family!

ON THE TRACK
Best wishes this week to our 18 track and field student-athletes in Eugene, Ore., at the NCAA Outdoor Championships! We'll have four student-athletes competing as individuals along with four relay teams.

STAFF RECOGNITION
We're proud of assistant athletics director for media relations Mark Cohen for being recognized by his peers today at the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Convention in Orlando, Fla. Mark is being honored for his 25 years in the field. The real award should go to his wife, Sarah, for putting up with him all this time. Mark has been a Horned Frog for nine years after working the previous 16 years at Wofford.

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Kevin Costner, as Crash Davis in the iconic baseball movie Bull Durham, said, "Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic." This Week: In keeping with the baseball theme, "Hats for bats, keep bats warm."

COMPLIANCE CORNER
Ocean State University has two incoming basketball student-athletes who will be enrolling in summer school on June 1. Both of these individuals have been invited to participate in all-star games in the month of July. Since they will be considered student-athletes as of June 1 (summer school enrollment date), can they participate in the all-star games?
Yes with the approval of the blanket waiver by the Division I Legislative Council Subcommittee for Legislative Relief.
The NCAA Division I Legislative Council Subcommittee for Legislative Relief approved a blanket waiver to allow incoming student-athletes who, per NCAA Bylaw 13.02.12, are no longer considered prospective student-athletes as a result of attending classes during the summer term to participate in a high school or two-year college all-star contest. In issuing this waiver, the subcommittee noted the celebratory nature of all-star contests as a culmination of a high school or two-year college athletics career. Additionally, the subcommittee noted the minimal competitive advantage gained as a result of participation in a high school or two-year college all-star contest. Given the timing of these all-star events, incoming student-athletes would potentially be otherwise required to forego the opportunity to participate in an all-star contest or delay summer school enrollment in order to participate in the event.
