TCU Announces Athletes of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - Football's Chucky Hunter and men's basketball's Karviar Shepherd have been named TCU's Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week for their recent performances.
Hunter, a senior from West Monroe, La., recorded a career-high 4 ½ tackles for loss in the 55-3 victory over Iowa State on Saturday. His 1 ½ sacks tied a career-best and help earn the team's first Big 12 Championship.
The Horned Frog's football team earned a trip to Atlanta, Ga., for the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 31 for a top-10 matchup against Ole Miss at 11:30 a.m.
Shepherd, the sophomore center from Dallas, posted double-digits in points for the third time this season and 16th of his career in the win at Ole Miss, 66-54. He led the team in scoring with 14 points and added nine rebounds in the game.
Shepherd and the men's basketball team return to action tonight, opening a six-game homestand with Furman at 7 p.m. at Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center.
