HAPPY THANKSGIVING
We hope everyone has a very safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving, and we look forward to seeing many of you in Austin on Thursday night!
CONGRATULATIONS TREVONE!
We're very proud of Trevone Boykin for being selected as one of three finalists for the 2014 Davey O'Brien Award as the nation's top quarterback. It's quite an honor, especially with Davey being a Horned Frog himself. In fact, Trevone is the first TCU player to be a finalist for the award. He'll be part of the ESPN College Football Awards Show on Dec. 11 in Orlando, Fla. B.J. Catalon is also a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award as the most versatile player in the nation, while Trevone and Josh Doctson are semifinalists for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.

CRACKING THE TOP 25
Let's hear it for our men's swimming and diving program, under longtime head coach Richard Sybesma, on cracking the top 25 in this week's national poll. We're currently ranked 22nd.
EXCELLENCE IN THE CLASSROOM
For the eighth consecutive season, our women's soccer program received a Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. To qualify, teams must post a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. We were at 3.26 for the 2013-14 academic year.
ON THE DOCKET
Before turning our attention to the Thanksgiving football game at Texas at 6:30 p.m., we have two sports in action tonight. Volleyball closes its home schedule at 6:30 p.m. when it hosts Texas in a sold-out match at the Rec Center. We'll conclude the season on Saturday at UTEP. Men's basketball, off to a 4-0 start, has a 7 p.m. home game tonight against Radford at Wilkerson-Greines. Our men will then head to Corpus Christi for a weekend tournament, beginning play on Friday against Bradley. We'll face either Saint Louis or Mississippi State on Saturday.
Women's basketball, with a 3-1 record, will head to Boulder, Colo., for a tournament. We face Colorado State on Friday and either the host Buffaloes, head coach Raegan Pebley's alma mater, or Missouri State on Saturday.
NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week: Trading Places is definitely one of the classic comedies of the 80s. You can't help but laugh when Ralph Bellamy told Eddie Murphy, "Pork bellies, which is used to make bacon, which you might find in a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich."
This Week: "Heroes get remembered, but legends never die."
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Ocean State University (OSU) men's soccer team is participating in the first round of the NCAA Tournament this weekend. A lot of parents are traveling to the game and asked if OSU can help secure rooms for them at the same discounted price that the team is receiving. Is it permissible for OSU to secure rooms for student-athletes' family members at a discounted price?
Yes. NCAA Bylaw 16.6.1.2 states that an institution may reserve or secure lodging at any postseason event (other than a conference event) at a reduced or special rate for the family members of a student-athlete who is a participant. It is not permissible for an institution to cover any portion of the cost of lodging, including any cost associated with reserving or securing lodging. [R] (Adopted: 10/28/99, Revised: 1/19/13 effective 8/1/13)
