
TCU Set To Host Triangular

FORT WORTH - The TCU Rifle team will compete in its second consecutive triangular match Saturday and Sunday when the Horned Frogs welcome Nevada and Jacksonville State to the TCU Rifle Range.
The Wolf Pack and half the Horned Frogs will shoot on Saturday, while the Gamecocks and the rest of TCU will fire on Sunday.
The Horned Frogs have seen consistency atop its air rifle leaderboard this year. Hannah Black's 590 average is tops on the team, while Sally Li and Mindy Miles each have contributed 589s.
Last week's match saw TCU post a 2,324 in smallbore, its best showing since the NCAA Qualifier in 2013. The Horned Frogs have also improved their total output in that discipline each match this season. Li (581) and Black (580) have set the standard for smallbore average this season. Barrett Ray has raised her score in each of her first four collegiate matches.
TCU defeated Murray State 4,663-4,662, but lost by a point to Jacksonville State on Sunday. Kelly Bogart (1,167) and Katie Bridges (1,163) also set aggregate personal-bests in the weekend tilt.
The Gamecocks, who were able to finish a point ahead of TCU and two ahead of Murray State on Sunday, got a 591 and 580 in air rifle and smallbore, respectively, from Brandon Muske. Cole Tucker also posted a 588 and 581 in those disciplines.
Nevada, 3-3 on the season, is coming off a 4,681-4,646 loss to Air Force. The Wolf Pack is led in air rifle by Stephani Cooksey, who boasts a 586 average. followed by Greta Ochsner and her 581 pace. Ochsner's 576 average in smallbore is also tops on the squad.
