BIG WINS AND BIG CROWDS
It was a great weekend for our soccer and volleyball programs! Soccer knocked off No. 25 Arkansas 2-1 in double overtime on Sunday, while volleyball defeated Ole Miss in Saturday night's championship match to complete an undefeated run through the TCU/Nike Molten Invitational. While those victories were great, just as impressive were the packed houses at both Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium and the Rec Center. The student-athletes and coaches in our soccer and volleyball programs truly appreciate your great support.

KICKOFF TIME ANNOUNCED
In case you missed it, the Big 12 Conference announced that next Saturday's home football game with SMU will have an 11 a.m. kickoff. With SMU returning tickets to us, we now have a limited amount of seats available for this previously announced sold-out game. You can make your purchase at the following link: Click Here, by calling (817) 257-3764 (FROG) or dropping by the athletics ticket office in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

ALUMNI WATCH
We're proud of all our former student-athletes, but Monday was truly a great day for a pair of Horned Frogs. Former baseball standout Andrew Cashner nearly tossed the first no-hitter in San Diego Padres' history, finishing with a complete game one-hitter and facing the minimum 27 batters in a 2-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Andrew was perfect through six innings. That same night, Andy Dalton led his Cincinnati Bengals to a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

FACILITIES UPDATE
We're excited to announce for our baseball program that construction will begin this fall on the addition of a 20,000-square foot player development area at Lupton Stadium and Williams-Reilly Field. Completion is set for this spring. Please click here for the full release and photo gallery: Click Here.

HORNED FROG CLASSIC
The 35th-annual Horned Frog Classic is set for Monday, Oct. 7, at Colonial Country Club. Sponsorships are available for this longtime and popular TCU tradition, which provides scholarship funding for our men's and women's golf programs. We very much appreciate title sponsor Greenwood Office Outfitters and our friends at Colonial Country Club for their partnership in hosting the Horned Frog Classic. Please call the TCU Frog Club office at (817) 257-7700 or visit www.tcufrogclub.com to reserve your sponsorship today. I'm told this year's player gift package is something you won't want to miss. Let's tee it up for TCU! I'll see you there.
ON THE DOCKET
Make sure to head out to Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium this weekend as our soccer program has a pair of home matches. We host Denver on Friday at 7 p.m. and then Central Arkansas on Sunday at 1 p.m. Equestrian has its Purple and White Scrimmage on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Turning Point Ranch in Springtown. Volleyball will take a five-match winning streak to North Carolina for a weekend tournament at UNC Greensboro. Swimming and diving has a Friday scrimmage at North Texas, while women's tennis will compete at the Amelia Island Championships in Florida.

MEET THE STAFF
Rory Rutledge is in his first year as an assistant director of marketing at TCU. Rory works directly with our baseball and soccer programs while also coordinating Frog Alley at home football games. A native of East Lansing, Mich., Rory graduated from Michigan State before earning his master's degree at Central Michigan. Prior to arriving at TCU, Rory worked in athletics marketing for two years at Air Force, where he served as the direct contact for the Falcons' hockey and women's basketball teams.

BIG 12 CORNER
The Big 12 is one of three conferences (SEC, Pac-12) with at least 40 percent of its football teams ranked in this week's Associated Press Top 25. We're among the schools receiving votes.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Many of you remember Michael Toudouze as a mainstay on our offensive line (2002-05) before going on to earn a Super Bowl championship ring with the 2006 Indianapolis Colts. Michael played parts of seven seasons in the NFL. During his time as a Horned Frog, he helped lead us to a pair of conference championships and four bowl games. He was All-Mountain West as a senior. Michael has returned to the area as a customer account manager at Sunstate Equipment, a construction rental and tools company whose products are being used on projects at TCU. Michael and his wife, Jeni, live in Aledo with their son Maddox.

SPANNING THE GLOBE
In this week's edition of the TCU Nation showing its pride from all points worldwide, we see Ava Grace Petorak representing the Horned Frogs in Puyallup, Wash. If you have some great images to share, please send them my way (delconte@tcu.edu).

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Veteran actor John Amos, as Cleo McDowell in Coming to America, said, "Me and the McDonald's people got this little misunderstanding."

This Week's Quote: "That's a surfboard all right! Looks like a '57 Chevy I used to have." Make sure to check back next week for the answer.
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Sand Trap is an incoming freshman student-athlete at Ocean State University (OSU). Sand will be participating on the golf team at OSU and receiving a partial athletic scholarship. To help pay for some of her educational costs, Sand has obtained a part-time job at a local copy center. Her job starts a week before classes begins. Sand will not be driving her car to school, so she asks the head golf coach for a ride from the airport to the dorms. Is this permissible?
No. NCAA Staff Interpretation - 9/4/13 - Transportation on Initial Arrival for Summer Employment (I) - states that it is not permissible for an institution to transport a prospective student-athlete to campus from the nearest bus, train station or airport when the student arrives to begin a summer job prior to attending classes, even if the individual will remain in the locale of the institution to begin courses.
