REPORTING DAYS
Another athletics season is truly upon us! Football officially opened its preseason camp today, while soccer and volleyball have their reporting days next Wednesday (Aug. 7).
CHECK YOUR MAILBOXES
Tickets for our Aug. 31 Cowboys Classic game with LSU at AT&T Stadium were mailed last Monday, July 29. Season tickets will be mailed next Thursday, Aug. 8. Tickets for Big 12 road games will be shipped after we receive them from each host school.
A VIRTUAL SELLOUT
A limited number of Spirit Passes are all that remain available for our Aug. 31 LSU game in the Cowboys Classic. Ticketed seats are sold out. The $30 Spirit Pass gives fans a chance to enjoy pre-game festivities in the two plaza areas outside AT&T Stadium as well as access to the six end zone party decks within the stadium. Standing room viewing along the end zone rails is on a first-come, first-served basis. The live broadcast of the game will be shown on large video screens in each plaza just outside the party decks.
Spirit pass tickets do not provide fans with a seat, but they do allow the ability to move about the end zone decks and open spaces in the main concourses. Fans wishing to purchase these standing room tickets should visit Ticketmaster online or call Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000.
LSU GAME DAY NOTE
For those of you headed to our Aug. 31 Cowboys Classic game with LSU, please note that AT&T Stadium will be implementing the NFL's new policy of limiting the size and type of bags allowed into stadiums. The NFL Committee on Stadium Security recently recommended the implementation of this measure to enhance public safety and make it easier for fans to gain access to all stadiums.
The NFL strongly encourages fans to not bring any type of bags, but fans will be able to carry in the following:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches.
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
- Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.
- An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

WELCOME TO TCU AND FORT WORTH
With the Texas High School Coaches Association having its annual convention in Fort Worth, we've had a lot of visitors to campus the past few days. We welcome all the coaches and administrators in town. It's been great having them on campus for the All-Star basketball and football games.
REMEMBERING COACH TAYLOR
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of former TCU head football coach and Lettermen's Association Hall of Fame member Fred Taylor, who passed away last week. More than 60 of his former players were at the funeral. Fred's long association with the Horned Frogs began during his time as a student-athlete in the 1940s. After serving in the Army in World War II, he returned to campus and was the football team's Dan Rogers Most Valuable Player in 1946. He served as head coach from 1967-70.

MEET THE STAFF
Jessica Hazard is in her second year as one of our NCAA compliance coordinators. Her primary duties include monitoring, recruiting, initial eligibility, amateurism and oversight of the professional sports agents/elite athletes' program. A native of Boise, Idaho, Jessica came to us after working in compliance at Boise State. She previously lived and worked in Oakland, Calif., for 15 years and was part of the Oakland Raiders' legal department. Jessica graduated from Boston College, where she played soccer, and received her law degree from John F. Kennedy University College of Law in California. Jessica is the mother of twin sons, Javier and Xavier, and a passionate Oakland Raiders' fan.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
I'm sure many of you remember John Marsh as a three-year letterman (1989-91) on the gridiron for the Horned Frogs. John was a first-team All-Southwest Conference selection at offensive guard his senior year. He also contributed on the defensive side of the ball. John currently lives in New Braunfels, Texas, with his wife, Hayley, and their five children: Madison, Bryce, Geo-Jo, Landon and Miller. John works as operations manager at Ben E. Keith Foods in San Antonio. John might be best known for his passion for TCU and its former student-athletes as he heads up the Lettermen's Association Tailgate and the group that provides the World Famous Barbecue and fixin's to Lettermen and guests at every home football game.

COMPLIANCE CORNER
A "booster" is a representative of TCU's athletics interests. All TCU employees are considered boosters under the NCAA legislation. An individual will also become a booster if he or she has ever:
- Been a member of any organization promoting TCU Athletics.
- Made any type of donation to the Frog Club, TCU Athletics or any other TCU booster organization.
- Assisted in evaluating or recruiting prospective student-athletes.
- Assisted in providing benefits to enrolled student-athletes or their families.
- Promoted TCU Athletics in any manner.
Remember, boosters may not:
- Contact recruits, either in-person, by telephone, in writing or by any other method.
- Contact the recruit's coach, principal or counselor.
- Provide any type of benefit (money, services, items) to recruits or student-athletes, unless such a benefit is available to the general public and such a claim can be easily demonstrated.
