GREAT JOB FROG CLUB MEMBERS!
Based on an average cost of $45,900 for 233.1 scholarships, our total expenditure for scholarships this year was $10,699,290. With our record-breaking Frog Club annual giving total of $10,913,881 for the 2013 fiscal year, we covered our scholarship costs. This truly speaks volumes about the passion and support of the TCU Horned Frog Nation! Thank you!

SETTING THE PACE ACADEMICALLY
Congratulations to our women's golf, rifle and men's tennis programs on receiving Public Recognition for their perfect Academic Progress Rate score of 1,000 for the 2011-12 cohort. The NCAA annually honors teams earning multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. Our football program tied for the Big 12 lead with its 962 score.
HALL OF FAME CLASS ANNOUNCED
A tip of the cap to our 2013 TCU Lettermen's Association Hall of Fame class: Kim Collins (men's track and field, 2000-01), Wilson Groseclose (football/men's basketball, 1933-35), Paul Robinson (men's tennis 1993-96), Bo Schobel (football, 2000, 2002-03), Bobby Stewart (football, 1978-80) and Stevanie Wadsworth Ferguson (women's track and field, 1993-95). This outstanding group of Horned Frogs will be inducted Oct. 10 and then honored at our Oct. 12 home football game versus Kansas.

HONOR ROLL
We were very excited to see our 100-meter national champion Charles Silmon recognized this week as a semifinalist for The Bowerman, presented to collegiate track and field's most outstanding male and female performers. It's the second straight year we've had a Bowerman semifinalist. NCAA women's indoor and outdoor long jump national champion Whitney Gipson was a 2012 semifinalist.

LET'S TALK
Please join me today at 3:30 p.m. CDT for our monthly online chat on GoFrogs.com. We'll cover whatever is on your mind. Questions can be submitted in advance here.
BIG 12 CORNER
The Big 12 is the only conference where every men's basketball head coach has guided a team to the NCAA Tournament. Six of those head coaches have reached the Final Four.

MEET THE STAFF
If you've been a TCU ticket purchaser over the last three decades, you've undoubtedly come across Chip Heiss. Chip is now in his 28th year with our athletics ticket office as our customer service manager. Chip first arrived at TCU as a student-athlete on our baseball team. He was a two-year letterman on the mound and the recipient of a team Academic Achievement Award in 1984. A Fort Worth native, Chip led Southwest High School to three straight district championships. An avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing and hunting, Chip and his wife, Laura, have three sons: Hunter, Danny and Ryan. Danny is a former linebacker on our football team.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
When Sandora Irvin was playing for our women's basketball program in the early 2000s, Daniel-Meyer Coliseum was the place to be. The consensus All-American became the NCAA's career leader in blocked shots. At one time, she also recorded 15 consecutive double-doubles. Sandora earned Conference USA Player of the Year honors and was recognized for three consecutive seasons as the league's Defensive Player of the Year. A Florida native, she was the third overall pick by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2005 WNBA Draft and has played professionally around the world ever since. She returned to campus a few years ago for a stint as the director of operations for our women's basketball program. Sandora is currently playing in Brazil and is the founder of "Born With A Purpose," a Christian-centered, non-profit that hosts free girls basketball camps all over the world. She was in town this week helping her alma mater as a coach with the Jeff Mittie Elite Basketball Camps.

SPANNING THE GLOBE
In this week's edition of the TCU Nation flashing the Horned Frogs sign and apparel from all points worldwide, we see Will Amos '00, earlier this month in Zermatt, Switzerland, at the base of the Matterhorn. If you have some great images to share, please send them my way (delconte@tcu.edu).

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Rodney Dangerfield, several years after playing Al Czervik in Caddyshack, became the oldest college freshman as Thornton Melon in Back to School, where he said, "I hereby dedicate this building to... myself."

This Week's Quote: "Porsche. There is no substitute." Make sure to check back next week for the answer.
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Member institutions shall make general academic counseling and tutoring services available to all student-athletes. These services can be provided by the athletics department or the institution's non-athletics student support services. In addition, an institution may finance other academic and support services that the institution, at its discretion, determines to be appropriate and necessary for the academic success of its student-athletes. An institution is able to provide support services but they must not cross the line into allowing it to be an extra benefit. An extra benefit is any special arrangement by an institutional employee or a representative of the institution's athletics interests to provide a student-athlete or the student-athlete's relative or friend a benefit not expressly authorized by NCAA legislation. Receipt of a benefit by student-athletes or their relatives or friends is not a violation of NCAA legislation if it is demonstrated that the same benefit is generally available to the institution's students or their relatives or friends or to a particular segment of the student body (e.g., international students, minority students) determined on a basis unrelated to athletics ability. Remember to ask before you act! Please contact our NCAA Compliance office (817-257-7525) with any questions.
KEEP IN TOUCH
Please let us know if you ever have any questions or concerns regarding our program. This is also your program and we value your feedback. We welcome all calls and emails.
