TWO MORE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
Congratulations to our student-athletes, head coach Darryl Anderson, his staff and everyone associated with our track and field program on a great season that culminated with a pair of national titles at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. Lorraine Ugen opened competition for us with our second straight NCAA championship in the long jump (22-2 1/2). Lorraine followed Whitney Gipson capturing the indoor and outdoor titles last season. Charles Silmon then earned the No. 10 Play on ESPN SportsCenter's Plays of the Day with his win in the 100 meters (9.89w). Overall, our men tied for 12th, while our women tied for 25th. It was our best finish for the men since 2004 and the second-best result in our women's history. We were one of just 10 schools to have both its men and women place in the top 25.

We have 694 football season tickets still available. Please contact the ticket office at (817) 257-FROG (3764) to discuss options. Single-game tickets will go on sale Sept. 1.
FACILITIES UPDATE
The installation of the new seatbacks at Amon G. Carter Stadium is nearing completion. Next on the docket is finalizing the process for the new grandstands at the Lowdon Track and Field Complex. Plans are also continuing for the new indoor batting cages at Lupton Stadium. These projects have start dates in the near future.
BIG 12 LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
We thank women's basketball's Latricia Lovings, equestrian's Taylor Gillette, football's Sam Carter and Chucky Hunter, soccer's Makenzie Koch and Kelly Johnson and swimming and diving's Cooper Robinson for representing us very well at last weekend's Big 12 Leadership Summit in Fort Worth. BIG 12 CORNER
Ninety percent (9-of-10) of Big 12 football teams played in the 2012 postseason. It was the highest percentage for a conference in college football history. The Big 12 has had five Heisman Trophy winners, tying for most in the nation, since the conference was formed in 1996.
MEET THE STAFF
Laura Weisbrod has truly become a fixture for us in the Rec Center as our administrative assistant for swimming and diving and volleyball. She also represents athletics on TCU's Staff Assembly. Now in her 10th year as a Horned Frog, Laura came to TCU after working as a substitute teacher in the Fort Worth ISD. A native of nearby Everman, she graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. Laura and her husband, Kim, are the proud parents of Rachel, a TCU graduate.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
TCU men's tennis All-American Esteban Carril '01 was part of our second NCAA Final Four appearance in 2001. He ranks second at TCU in single-season winning percentage (.829) and was the 1998 ITA National Clay Court singles champion as well as a three-time All-American. Esteban also garnered WAC Freshman of the Year honors and was a two-time WAC Player of the Year. He then competed on the ATP World Tour. Esteban currently lives in Barcelona, Spain, and is director of Tennis Management, a tennis academy. He is also a touring professional tennis coach who currently works with Roberto Bautista Agut, the 60th-ranked player in the world.
SPANNING THE GLOBE
In this week's edition of the TCU Nation flashing the Horned Frogs sign and apparel from all points worldwide, we see Brian Estridge, the Voice of the Horned Frogs, on his recent church mission trip to Havana, Cuba. Brian is with Julio Rojas, a Havana local who served as a translator. If you have some great images to share, please send them my way (delconte@tcu.edu).

COMPLIANCE CORNER
There are periodic headlines in national media reports regarding agents having impermissible relationships with student-athletes. The actions of an agent are governed by the professional players' associations (NFLPA, MLBPA, etc.). The Attorney General in many states is also weighing in on the Agent situation in relation to collegiate athletics. The NCAA rules primarily outline what a student-athlete may do in relation to an agent. A prospective or enrolled student-athlete jeopardizes their amateur status and becomes ineligible for intercollegiate athletics if they have agreed either orally or in writing to retain an agent for the purpose of marketing their athletic ability or reputation in that sport. An agent may not provide a benefit of any kind (i.e. cash, other gifts or services) to enrolled or prospective student-athletes or their relatives or friends without jeopardizing their amateur status.
