TRUE SCHOLAR-ATHLETES
We start this week's edition of the blog with a special tribute to Sarah Beard and Sarah Scherer from our rifle program. Please join me in congratulating them on receiving NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships. This duo truly defines what it means to be a Horned Frog! They have set the standard in the classroom and in competition. It's special to have a postgraduate scholarship recipient at any point in time, let alone two and from the same team in the same year. That's basically unheard of! These two special student-athletes helped lead us to a pair of national championships with Sarah Scherer also representing TCU and Fort Worth at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

BIG 12 CHAMPION
With a 7-2 record, women's tennis player Simona Parajova has captured the Big 12 championship at No. 3 singles. A sophomore from Zvolen, Slovakia, Simona has been instrumental in our top-25 ranking this season.

HONOR ROLL
In less than two full seasons, men's golfer Julien Brun has become our career leader in tournament victories with six. The runner-up for last year's individual national championship, Julien picked up a pair of impressive honors this week. He is a semifinalist for the Ben Hogan Award, presented to the nation's top collegiate golfer, as well as earning his second career Palmer Cup invitation. The Palmer Cup is a Ryder Cup-style international competition between college stars from the United States and Europe.

FACILITIES REPORT
Last week, we very much enjoyed sharing the initial design concepts for a renovated Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. As a reminder, this is all contingent on fundraising. We received a great head start with the $10 million commitment from Rae and Ed Schollmaier. As fundraising continues, our athletics staff who would be occupying and using the proposed renovated facility is looking at more in-depth design features. Work on the Amon G. Carter Stadium field project continues. Grass should be placed in early May. We're just waiting on the growing season to commence and temperatures to warm up.

LET'S TALK
Please join me today at 3:30 p.m. CDT for our monthly online chat on GoFrogs.com. We'll talk about whatever is on your mind. Questions can be submitted in advance here.
ON THE DOCKET
Our sixth-ranked men's golf program concludes play today at the Big 12 Championship in Hutchinson, Kan. Men's tennis and women's tennis will then take their turn at a Big 12 Championship when they head to Norman, Okla., this weekend. Both squads are seeded fourth and begin play Friday. The men face Texas Tech at 9 a.m. with the women taking on Oklahoma State at noon. Baseball, having won three consecutive Big 12 series, will be at Kansas State. Sunday's series finale, set for an 11 a.m. first pitch, will be televised nationally on FOX College Sports.

MEET THE STAFF
Many Frog Club supporters undoubtedly know Jessica Cung, one of our gift officers. Jessica, who also helps manage our new donor rewards program, is in her sixth year at TCU. The Fort Worth native and Texas A&M graduate previously worked seven years in community relations for the Texas Rangers. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys cooking and taking part in karaoke. She and her husband, Steve, are the proud parents of daughter Cameron, age 2, and 10-month-old son Colby.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Tim McClendon was a three-year letterman (1970-72) in basketball and a member of our 1971 Southwest Conference championship team. Tim is now managing partner with Hertel McClendon, L.L.P., a commercial property and casualty insurance agency in Fort Worth. Bill Hertel '73, his business partner, was a soccer letterman and a fellow member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Tim teaches professional designation classes across the country. Utilizing his 40 years experience in the industry, he is also an expert witness in insurance cases. Tim lives in North Richland Hills, Texas, with his wife Liza.

SPANNING THE GLOBE
This week's edition of TCU supporters flashing the Horned Frog sign and apparel from all points worldwide shows our version of Clark Griswold. We see assistant athletics director for media relations Mark Cohen with his family at the Grand Canyon last summer. As he made his drive across the country, Mark admits he was looking for Christie Brinkley in the next lane but didn't see her. If you have some great images, please send them my way (delconte@tcu.edu). These are fun to share.

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Anchorman is one of my all-time favorite movies. Will Farrell, in his legendary role of Ron Burgundy, said of his workout prowess, "Oh, I can barely lift my right arm 'cause I did so many. I don't know if you heard me counting. I did over a thousand."

This Week's Quote: "The cathedral that is Yankee Stadium belongs to a Chapel." Make sure to check back next week for the answer.
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Student-athletes are permitted to obtain employment under NCAA legislation. However, any employment a student-athlete obtains must meet certain criteria. First, a student-athlete must be paid for work that he or she actually performs. A student-athlete must also be paid the going rate as an individual with like training or experience. He or she may not be paid more just because he or she is a student-athlete. Likewise, a student-athlete may not be compensated based upon the amount of business he or she may bring to the employer because he or she has a certain following with him or her.
The TCU Athletics Compliance Office requires all student-athletes to file paperwork anytime they obtain new employment. Upon receiving proper notification of employment, the TCU Athletics Compliance Office will send a letter to the student-athlete's employer informing them that the employee is a student-athlete and the relevant NCAA legislation applicable to his or her employment.
