FORT WORTH, Texas - Football's Jaden Oberkrom and equestrian's Caitlin Ader are the Scholar-Athletes of the Month for October, TCU Athletics announced today.
Oberkrom nailed four of his five field goal attempts for the month and converted all of his PAT's. The sophomore arts and sciences major from Arlington converted three-point tries of 25, 35, 37 and 42 yards. He ranks fifth in the Big 12 in field goals made despite having eight fewer kicks than the leader. He is also one of two kickers in the league to have a perfect PAT mark on the year.
The Horned Frogs play again Saturday afternoon at Kansas State. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CST on Fox Sports.
Ader has been much of the reason for the Horned Frogs' No. 3 national ranking. The senior Strategic Communication major from Palm Coast, Fla., recorded her first Most Outstanding Player of the year on Oct. 19 in Equitation on the Flat as the Horned Frogs dropped No. 4 Kansas State. In that match, she defeated Madison Wayda, 91-88, for the MOP honor. She also scored a point in that category back on Oct. 5 against Baylor, defeating Paige Parker by a narrow 84-82 margin.
Ader and TCU will return to action Saturday at Oklahoma State at 10 a.m.
