MEETING THE ROCKET
During its practice round this past Saturday at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, several members of our women's golf program came across baseball icon Roger Clemens on the course. As you can see, The Rocket loves the Frogs!

ON THE DOCKET
Swimming and diving season is here! Richard Sybesma begins his 35th season at the helm as our women host Kansas on Thursday at 1 p.m., before the men and women welcome North Carolina to the Rec Center on Saturday at noon. Admission is free. We also have soccer at home on Friday night at 7 versus Oklahoma and equestrian on Saturday at 11 a.m. against Kansas State. Our men's and women's tennis programs will host the ITA Regional Championships this weekend at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. Volleyball is at Baylor tonight at 7, while football has a Saturday 11 a.m. contest at Oklahoma State. The game will be televised on FOX. Men's golf begins play Sunday at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in Windmere, Fla.

BIG 12 CORNER
Through 13 conference games this season, a ranked Big 12 team has lost to an unranked conference opponent on three occasions, the most among the power conferences. Since 2011 with the implementation of round-robin scheduling, the Big 12 has had 15 such games, also the most among peer conferences (ACC - 13, Big Ten - 11, Pac-12 - 11, SEC - 2).

MEET THE STAFF
Kenny Perry joined our football program in March 2013 in the newly created role of director of high school relations. Kenny previously served seven years (2006-12) as head football coach at nearby Arlington Bowie High School. He was also a head coach at Haltom High School and Arlington Sam Houston. He was a three-time District Coach of the Year and the 2007 Dallas Morning News Coach of the Year. A 1993 graduate of the University of Houston, Perry was a four-year letterman (1988-91) for the Cougars.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Amy Atamancuk Patterson was a four-year letterwinner for our volleyball program from 1997-00 and part of TCU's second-ever recruiting class. You might not remember that we didn't have a volleyball program until 1996. An outside hitter, Amy ranks third all-time with 13 matches of 20-or-more kills. She is also sixth on our career chart in kills per game while holding the single-season school record with 542 kills. Amy is currently a petroleum geologist for the Jetta Operating Company in Fort Worth. She also serves on the Clarke Board and is a volunteer for the prestigious Letterman Tailgate Pit Crew. She lives in Fort Worth and enjoys playing any sport in her free time and travelling as much as possible.

SPANNING THE GLOBE
In this week's edition of the Horned Frogs Nation showing their pride from all points worldwide, we see Scott and Amy Samford '96 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, earlier this month. If you have some great images to share, please send them my way (delconte@tcu.edu).

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE
Last Week's Answer: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, going undercover as pilot Roger Murdock in Airplane!, responded to criticism from young Laker fan Joey by saying, "Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes."

This Week's Quote: "It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girl dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day."
COMPLIANCE CORNER
The head men's basketball coach at Ocean State University wants to send a picture as an attachment in a text message to a few junior prospects. The picture is of the newly-renovated locker room. Is this permissible? If so, can the coach use Instagram to alter the picture?
The men's basketball coach is permitted to send such a picture as an attachment to the junior prospects, but it is NOT permissible to use software to add content to the photograph. NCAA Educational Column- 10/10/12- Photographs as Attachments to General Correspondence and Electronic Transmissions (I) - states that NCAA Division I institutions should note an institution may send a photograph to a prospective student-athlete as an attachment to general correspondence (printed on plain white paper with black ink) or electronic transmissions, provided the information in the photograph was not altered or staged for a recruiting purpose.
