COLLEGE COLORS DAY THIS FRIDAY
Please remember that Friday is College Colors Day across the country. It also happens to coincide with our football game at Baylor. If you're headed to Waco that night, travel safe and make sure to Purple Up!
GREAT TIME TO BE A HORNED FROG
Monday was an historic day at TCU with approval from our Board of Trustees' Executive Committee to proceed with the east side renovation of Amon G. Carter Stadium, enabling us to have a fully completed stadium for next season. We are most appreciative of our 95 donors on this project as well as Chancellor Boschini, Chairman Clarence Scharbauer, our Board of Trustees and the Stadium Renovation Committee for their vision and leadership.

COMING SOON
For those who have made deposits on club seats, watch for important information in the next several weeks concerning the seat selection dates and procedures.
DELIVERY TIME
It was exciting for me last week to spend five nights making the rounds to personally deliver football season tickets to some local residents. Associate athletics director Scott Kull and Frog Club gift officer Jeremiah Donati joined me as we also dropped off parking passes. A great time was had by all!
TICKET WATCH
As progress continues ahead of schedule on our renovation of Amon G. Carter Stadium, and just in the nick of time, 600 additional reserved seats in sections 215-217 in the northwest corner are now available. The season ticket package is $255 and includes six games at Amon G. Carter Stadium plus the BYU contest at Cowboys Stadium. Reserved season tickets have gone fast this year. Our new updated record-breaking total is over 21,300. You need to have season tickets in 2011 to receive priority in the renovated stadium in 2012, when we begin BIG EAST Conference play and host Oklahoma, Virginia and Grambling State in non-conference action.
GO PURPLE FRIDAYS
Our very popular "Go Purple Fridays" from last year will return this fall. Our official 2011 season shirt is available for only $10 online at this LINK. Go Purple Fridays also includes local businesses offering discounts each Friday in honor of TCU. If you own a business and would like to participate in this year's "Go Purple Fridays" as a corporate partner, please contact Julie May (julie.may@tcu.edu and 817-257-7969) in our athletics marketing office.

VOTE FOR SUPERFROG
SuperFrog is one of 16 finalists in the 2011 Capital One Mascot Challenge. You can vote online or text `SuperFrog' to 78527. The winning institution receives $15,000 for its Mascot/Spirit Program to use for scholarships and its general fund. Voting runs from Aug. 29 to Nov. 21 at: facebook.com/mascotchallenge or capitalonebowl.com.
NATIONAL MEDIA
Our football program has been receiving some great press lately. We were in USA Today last week and were featured in Sunday's New York Times. Several other national projects are in the works. We'll also have tremendous exposure via ESPN with Friday's season opener at Baylor.
GREAT EXPOSURE
It's always fun to receive emails from all of you. Wendi Kaplan snapped the below photo from the new Nike store at North Park Mall in Dallas and sent it to me. This was the front window display. Please share with me your stories and photos of purple passion, and I'll make sure to include one each week in this blog.

FROM THE HARD HATS
These are definitely exciting times with all the construction taking place. I believe associate athletics director T. Ross Bailey, our point person on these projects, has found his proper attire. As he makes the rounds to check on things, I've never seen someone more excited to don a reflector vest and hard hat than Ross. He looks great in it. The popular question I receive is how the stadium is progressing. We're working on a very tight time frame, but everything is ahead of schedule for our Sept. 17 home opener. Seating is being installed on the 200 level and the tower crane is coming down. Our new weight room, or the human performance center as we call it, has completed its inspections. We are now moving equipment in and will have full occupancy on Sept. 7.
ROSE BOWL AUCTION
Rose Bowl championship banners will be available for auction beginning Monday, Sept. 5, at noon HERE.
REVOLUTION
We very much appreciate all the positive comments we received about our football season-ticket video, Revolution: TCU Football 2011. We are now over 22,000 views. A special tip of the cap is extended to TCU graduate Red Sanders and Red Productions in Fort Worth on a job very well done.
ON THE DOCKET
Our only home event this week is a Sunday 1 p.m. soccer match versus Missouri. It's been incredible to see the support for our soccer and volleyball programs this season. The Rec Center was truly rocking Saturday night with over 2,100 folks packed in there. It was a TCU single-match attendance record as we swept future BIG EAST Conference rival UConn to win the TCU Invitational. We're currently averaging over 1,700 fans per volleyball home date and more than 1,500 in soccer.
NEW FACES
We have a couple of new faces in our department. Liz Wort is our new cross country coach. She comes to us from Duke, where she worked for four years with the very successful Blue Devil program. Robin Phillips is our new cheer coach. She'll work under spirit coordinator Lindsay Shoulders.
DINING WITH THE COACH
The first edition of the Frog Club's Gary Patterson Luncheon Series will be Thursday at noon in the Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center. Tickets are expected to go fast, so please check with the Frog Club (817-257-7700) on availability.
COMPLIANCE CORNER
For this week's edition of our compliance corner, here's a letter from Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson:
Dear Friends, Boosters and Fans of Mountain West Institutions:
The Mountain West is committed to establishing itself as a national leader in intercollegiate athletics, with a strong emphasis on ethics and sportsmanship. The Conference, with the support of the Presidents and athletics administrators at all eight institutions, has developed an extensive Sportsmanship Initiative designed to improve awareness and encourage positive behavior at all athletic events.
This letter is to ask for your assistance in this effort to have the Mountain West and its member institutions known for great teams that conduct competition with class, dignity and honor. Your actions, both home and away, are extremely important to the image of your team and your institution. You can have a positive impact on the guests that visit your institution and the experiences of the participating student-athletes. Please adopt a philosophy of respect and responsibility, and help your fellow fans do the same.
Thanks for your support of the Mountain West and this very important Sportsmanship Initiative. It is most appreciated.
Cordially,
Craig Thompson
Commissioner
