HITTING THE SOCIAL NETWORK
I'm a lifetime subscriber to National Geographic, and it was something I read in a recent article that inspired me to hit the social media ranks. In the July issue, an article titled "Drivers of Change" talks about how 41 percent of the United States population is under the age of 30. I then realized it was time to have a Facebook page. Please take a look and let me know what you think, and feel free to send a friend request.

MEET THE FROGS
We hope to see you Saturday for an opportunity to visit with our football team at Meet The Frogs from 12 to 2 p.m. in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Because of stadium construction, we are unable to have the open practice and clinic held in past years. This year's event will be a two-hour autograph session. SEASON T-SHIRT The first opportunity to pick up your official football season t-shirt will be at Saturday's Meet The Frogs. The shirt is only $10 with $2 of each purchase benefitting Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price's chosen charity. Scan the QR Code on the back of the t-shirt all season long for exclusive content, videos and offers. We'll soon be announcing the locations for other opportunities to buy a shirt.
TICKETS AVAILABLE
While our record-breaking total for football season tickets sold continues to grow, we now have single-game seats available for all six home games at Amon G. Carter Stadium as well as the Oct. 28 contest with BYU at Cowboys Stadium. Please feel free to purchase your seats online at GoFrogs.com or by calling or dropping by our athletics ticket office in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The new upper deck in the north end zone is sold out, while only scattered single seats remain in the lower bowl on the north side.

SIMPLY THE BEST
You might have heard about the recent ESPN The Magazine poll where college football coaches nationally were asked for their pick on the best coach in the country. The results simply confirmed what we already knew. Gary Patterson came out No. 1. It's obviously a great testament to not only Coach, but also his staff and the great momentum in our program.
SPEAKING OF THE BEST
We not only have the best football coach in America. We also have the best strength and conditioning coach in Don Sommer. In addition to our football coaches and sports medicine staff, Don and his crew are a big reason we currently have 25 players on NFL rosters. When our new weight room opens in a few more weeks, it will truly be like Christmas morning for Don. The dedication for the facility will take place Oct. 14.

IT'S HERE
The new athletics season officially begins Friday when our soccer team travels to Stillwater to face No. 14 Oklahoma State. We also have a Sunday 1 p.m. home match versus Lamar at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium. Our volleyball team will host its annual alumni match Saturday at 1 p.m.
LET'S TALK SOON
A lot of folks ask me when our next online chat will be. We've got it set for next Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. Please get those questions ready. Feel free to inquire about anything ranging from stadium construction, season tickets, conference realignment or best rock bands of the 1980s. We'll cover it all.
COMPLIANCE CORNER
Complimentary admissions can only be provided through a pass list. Each individual on a student-athlete's pass list will need to show identification in order to receive a complimentary admission. An institution MAY NOT provide a special arrangement to sell a student-athlete ticket(s) to an athletics event. Tickets shall be available for purchase by student-athletes according to the same purchasing procedures used for other students. The provision of complimentary or reduced-cost admissions to prospective student-athletes for an NCAA championship (all rounds) or other postseason contests (e.g., bowl game, NIT championship) constitutes excessive entertainment and is prohibited. The prospective student-athlete may purchase tickets to such events only in the same manner as any other member of the general public. A student-athlete MAY NOT purchase tickets for an intercollegiate athletics event from the institution and then sell the tickets at a price greater than their face value, as this constitutes an extra benefit. An institution or any representative of its athletics interests MAY NOT purchase or otherwise obtain tickets to a professional sports event and make these tickets available to student-athletes enrolled in an NCAA member institution. Individuals designated by the student-athlete to receive complimentary admissions are NOT permitted to receive any type of payment for these admissions or to exchange or assign them for any item of value, as this would be an extra benefit. Please remember to always ask before you act!
