THANK YOU STUDENTS!
How about that student turnout at last night's 75-69 men's basketball victory over Texas Tech! We thank all of you who were there early and donning that No. 6 jersey. We called it our Big 12 preview and we need that type of atmosphere each night. Let's keep the momentum going with another marquee non-conference home game coming up Saturday night at 7 versus Nebraska.

NEWS FROM THE BIG APPLE
I was recently in New York City for the National Football Foundation's College Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. It was great to visit with colleagues across the country. You can take pride in knowing there's a lot of respect nationally for TCU. While in New York, some very productive meetings were held with my counterparts in the Big 12. You could truly sense the excitement everyone has for the Horned Frogs coming into the league.
SAN DIEGO BOUND
We hope to see as many of you as possible in San Diego later this month. If you haven't yet ordered your San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl tickets, please do so as soon as possible. Ticket order information has been distributed to season-ticket holders and Frog Club members with the sales now open to the general public. Our Dec. 21 game against Louisiana Tech will be one of just four bowl games to feature two conference champions against each other.
CONSTRUCTION ZONE
The football game with UNLV was barely over before the construction teams started on the demolition of the east side of Amon G. Carter Stadium and more work on the west side. We are excited to see the details starting to appear on the west side and to really start making progress on the east side. Look for the wrecking ball next week. Our support staffs will have a trying but exciting spring semester as work is due to begin soon on the remodel of the Walsh Athletic Complex and its new football locker room, sports medicine center and equipment room.
HONOR ROLL
Congratulations to the 18 football student-athletes representing us on the 2011 All-Mountain West teams. A special tip of the cap to Tank Carder on being named the league's Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season and Greg McCoy on his selection as the MW's Special Teams Player of the Year.

NATIONAL CHAMPS COMING
Make sure to spend your Sunday afternoon in the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum as our women's basketball program will take a three-game winning streak into a 2 p.m. contest against defending national champion Texas A&M.
SOCCER UPDATE
I've received a good bit of inquiries about our soccer coach search. We've been very pleased with the national interest in the position and are nearing a close to the process. Look for an announcement soon on our new coach.

COMPLIANCE CORNER
Strides, a senior in high school, is interested in participating on the cross country and track teams at Bay State College next year. During this academic year, Strides is enrolled in two courses at a college in his hometown. He is taking these courses through an established program offered at his high school. Strides will receive both high school graduation and college credit for these two courses.
By taking the college courses, does Strides start his five-year eligibility clock?
No, as long as he does not participate in intercollegiate athletics while enrolled in the joint program. NCAA Bylaw 14.2.2.3 states that a student-athlete's eligibility under the five-year rule does not begin while a student is enrolled in a collegiate institution in a joint high school/college academic program for high school students in which the courses count as both high school graduation credit and college credit, provided the student has not officially graduated from high school and does not participate in intercollegiate athletics while enrolled in the joint program.
KEEP IN TOUCH
Please let us know if you ever have any questions or concerns regarding our program. This is also your program and we value your feedback. We welcome all calls and emails.
Go Frogs!
