
TCU Sweeps MW Weekly Awards for Second Time

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU swimmer Sabine Rasch and diver Katie Lybbert are the Mountain West Swimmer and Diver of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
It marks the second time this season the duo has earned the honor during the same week. The earned it together on Nov. 17, while Rasch was also named the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week on Nov. 9.
Rasch and Lybbert were instrumental in TCU's win over the weeked at the UIW Christmas Invitational in San Antonio. The Horned Frogs claimed the team title with 1,788 team points. Rice was second with 1,500 points.
The Luckenwalde, Germany, native placed in all nine events she entered, including winning the 100-free title in 50.14. That time was good for an NCAA "B" qualifying standard. Individually, Rasch was second in the 200-free, third in the 50-free and fourth in the 100-fly.
She helped the TCU 200-free relay team to a second-place showing in 1:50.08, as well as swimming legs in four other relays.
Lybbert, a junior from Argyle, Texas, earned first place honors on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards along with a second-place finish on the platform dive. Lybbert scored a 252.85 on the 1-meter board, a 252.85 on the 3-meter board and a 202.20 on the platform.
