HAPPY THANKSGIVING
I'd like to begin this week's blog by wishing everyone a very happy Thanksgiving! Here's hoping you and yours have a great and safe Holiday. The TCU campus will be closed Thursday and Friday. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
CONGRATULATIONS SENIORS
A special tip of the cap to the seniors in our football program on setting a new win record for a class. The 34-10 victory over Colorado State was their 45th win in the last four seasons, and there's still two games left. It's a remarkable achievement and the fourth straight year we'll graduate a group of seniors as the program's all-time winningest class.

THANK YOU
We still have one home game remaining, Dec. 3 vs. UNLV, but I wanted to really thank everyone for the patience and understanding shown us this season as we played in our live construction site known as Amon G. Carter Stadium. We had some hiccups, but all of you have been great in bearing with us during this one-year transition. Our fully-completed stadium next year will be an incredible source of pride for not just TCU, but all of Fort Worth and the Metroplex.
EAST SIDE RENOVATION
Work will begin Dec. 5, just two days after our final home game, on the east side renovation of Amon G. Carter Stadium. It will also be exactly one year to the day that we imploded the west side of the stadium. The new east side will feature a double deck that will rise as high as the speakers on the current light poles.

GOING BOWLING
All season ticket holders should have received information regarding the ordering of bowl tickets. If not, please make sure to contact our athletics ticket office at tickets@tcu.edu or (817) 257-FROG (3764) and 1-877-TCU-FROG (828-3764).
TIME CAPSULE
We are currently gathering items for a time capsule to be installed on the west side of Amon G. Carter Stadium. If you would like to see the placement of the time capsule, please feel free to drop by the west side of the stadium on Friday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m.
BIG 12 PREVIEW
You might have seen Gary Patterson on the video board with the message at our last home football game. Please make sure to mark your calendar for Tuesday, Dec. 6, when our men's basketball program hosts Texas Tech at 6 p.m. in a Big 12 Conference preview. We've had a great student turnout at our home games this season. Let's make every effort to pack Daniel-Meyer Coliseum for the Red Raiders.

ON THE DOCKET
We don't have any home events this weekend. However, if you live in Houston, please support our men's basketball program as they'll play Saturday at 7 p.m. at the University of Houston. Our women's program is headed to Orlando, Fla., as they'll take on Hartford and Fordham. Volleyball will close its regular season with a pair of matches in San Diego against Pitt and UC Santa Barbara.
STREAKING
Our rifle program made it 25 consecutive victories when it traveled to West Point last weekend and defeated Army and Murray State. Congratulations to head coach Karen Monez and her student-athletes.
HOME STRETCH
We're in the final weeks of the fall semester, and this is obviously an extra busy time for our student-athletes and our academic-athletics services office. Final exams begin Monday, Dec. 12.
COMPLIANCE CORNER
In late October, the Division I Board of Directors adopted a package of proposals that included significant changes to current academic and financial aid legislation. Here is a brief overview of some of the more substantial changes in regards to academics:
Initial-Eligibility Standards: Higher academic standards have been established for incoming freshmen to be able to compete than to receive aid and practice during the initial year of enrollment. These changes will take effect for prospective student-athletes initially enrolling on or after Aug. 1, 2015.
Two-Four Transfer Requirements: The transferable grade-point average will increase from 2.0 to 2.5, the limit on the number of transferrable physical education activity courses will be limited to two and for non-qualifiers, there will be an additional requirement for the completion of a core curriculum (six credits of English, three credits of math and three credits of natural/physical science). These changes are effective for students initially enrolling at a collegiate institution on or after Aug. 1, 2012.
Academic Progress Rate (APR): A 930 APR was established as the minimum academic standard to participate in postseason competition. In 2012-13 and 2013-14, teams must achieve a 900 multi-year APR or a 930 average over the most recent two years to be eligible. In 2014-15, teams that do not achieve the 930 benchmark for their four-year APR or at least a 940 average for the most recent two years will be ineligible for postseason competition. In 2015-16, the 930 benchmark will be implemented.
As always, ask before you act. If you have any questions, please contact our NCAA Compliance office at (817) 257-7525.
KEEP IN TOUCH
Please let us know if you ever have any questions or concerns regarding our program. This is also your program and we value your feedback. We welcome all calls and emails.
