TCU Swimming Enjoys Solid Day at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The TCU swimming and diving enjoyed a successful day in the water against the likes of Notre Dame, Michigan and Oakland Saturday.
The Horned Frogs claimed seven events on the women's side, while the men's team tallied three wins total.
Junior sprinter Sabine Rasch picked up a pair of victories, taking the 50-freestyle with a time of 23.41, followed by a 51.66 to claim the 100-freestyle. Sophomore Amanda Vincent also tallied two wins, sweeping the butterfly events.
From the air, junior diver Katie Lybbert worked her way to the top of the leaderboard in the three-meter springboard, collecting 283.65 points. Newcomer Victoria Thicke-Rattray also joined the winning ways, turning in a time of 2:08.27 to win the 200-IM.
TCU's women rounded out the evening with an impressive relay win, as the quartet of Rasch, Mackenzie Shuler, Katie Scarsella and Parris Schoppa steamed to the 400-freestyle relay title at 3:27.92.
On the men's side, senior Edgar Crespo streaked to a pair of wins in the breaststroke. The Panama City, Panama, product rolled to a time of 54.80 in the 100-breast, followed by a 2:03.10 performance in the 200-breast.
Senior Laszlo Gyurko had another fine day in the pool, taking the 100-backtroke event with a time of 49.59.
TCU will return to Fort Worth for a busy weekend at the University Rec Center. The women's team will host New Mexico State Friday, while both teams will enjoy Alumni Day on Saturday.
