FORT WORTH, Texas -- Thanks to the support of Chesapeake Energy as well as Collins and Young, local school districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex will be sending kids free of charge to TCU football games this season."We are pleased to be able to provide this wonderful college football experience for our future leaders," said Tim Tippit, director of community relations for Chesapeake Energy. "The opportunity for these youth to attend an event at TCU at an early age is exciting and can spur the dream of achieving a higher education, from which the entire community benefits."
The kids will be sitting in the TCU Energy Zone, located in the upper deck of Amon G. Carter Stadium. In addition to a game ticket, each kid will receive a t-shirt and coupon for a complimentary popcorn and drink through Sodexo.
"This is a terrific community outreach program for us and we very much appreciate Chesapeake Energy and Collins and Young for being outstanding corporate partners," said Scott Kull, TCU associate athletics director for external operations. "By underwriting tickets to the local ISDs, Chesapeake Energy and Collins and Young are providing kids an opportunity to experience the positive environment at TCU.
"When these kids make their college choice in a few years, we hope they'll remember the great experience they had on our campus and at a TCU football game."
ISDs participating in the program include Fort Worth, Aledo, Arlington, Azle, Birdville, Burleson, Colleyville-Grapevine and Keller.
The tickets made available by Chesapeake Energy and Collins and Young will be provided for every TCU home game this season, except the Oct. 23 Air Force contest.
"This is a wonderful initiative and we are honored to partner with TCU and Chesapeake Energy," said George Young, president of Collins and Young. "It's a positive whenever you can bring kids to a college campus. We believe they'll enjoy the excitement and momentum that surrounds the TCU football program."
