FROG FEVER IN SOCALGreetings from Los Angeles! It's great to see all the purple hitting Southern California. There's definitely an excitement in town. The Rose Bowl Game committee and everyone here have been very gracious and accommodating to our entire travel party and Horned Frog nation. Whether it's our trip to Disneyland, the Lawry's Beef Bowl or any team activity or practice, TCU is being treated like royalty in the City of Angels.
PEP RALLY
Please make a point to drop by our team hotel, the J.W. Marriott at L.A. Live, Friday at 3 p.m. for our official Pep Rally. Hosted by Brian Estridge and John Denton, the Pep Rally will feature our band, cheerleaders and Showgirls along with Chancellor Boschini. We're expecting about 5,000 purple-clad folks. The festivities will be in the plaza outside the J.W. Marriott, Nokia Theatre and Staples Center. This is a great opportunity for TCU to show everyone the passion that exists for the Horned Frogs. Make sure to also check out www.froglinks.com for all the official events in Southern California this week as well as TCU game-watching parties throughout the country.
FOLLOW THE FROGS
For those of you unable to be in California, make sure to check out the "Voice of the Frogs" Brian Estridge and his daily reports on our Web site (www.GoFrogs.com). We also have video and photos from various team activities being posted daily.
GAME PREPS
When our team visited the Rose Bowl Monday, we received a first-hand look at just how true this dream is. We saw an end zone at the historic stadium being painted in purple with a TCU logo. Playing in the Rose Bowl and a second-straight BCS game is not the pinnacle for us. It's just a jumping off point. We're not a one-hit wonder, we're a program that is entrusted in the hands of the best football coach in America - Gary Patterson.
MAKE A FASHION STATEMENT
Don't forget to make sure to get decked out in Rose Bowl apparel through our on-line store (http://shop.gofrogs.com/search/purple). We need everyone to Purple Up! Merchandise is also available in Southern California at the following hotels: J.W. Marriott at L.A. Live, Renaissance Hotel, Beverly Hilton and Hotel Palomar. There will also be merchandise for sale at Friday's Pep Rally outside the J.W. Marriott.
HONOR ROLL
The honors keep rolling in for our football student-athletes. Congratulations to Tank Carder and Tejay Johnson for being named to ESPN.com's All-America team. Tejay is a consensus All-American and one of five Frogs to be a first-team All-American this season.
TIME IS WINDING DOWN
Year-end tax-deductible gifts to the TCU Frog Club are welcomed at www.tcufrogclub.com. Thanks to all our donors who support the TCU Frog Club's mission of Scholarships for Champions!
HOOPS TOMORROW
If you're in town, make sure to support our women's basketball program as they host Texas Southern Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Our women will also welcome No. 14 Oklahoma to the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum Sunday at 5 p.m.
