H2O Frogs Finish Strong in Washington

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - TCU turned in strong times to wrap up the 2009 AT&T Short Course National Championships at the at the Weyerhaueser King County Aquatic Center.
The Horned Frogs' 400-free relay of Devin Price, Rourke Barrett, Laszlo Gyurko and Josh Bagby stole the show with a ninth place finish in the finals with a time of 3:03.02. TCU's women's squad of Zrinka Korac, Kaitlyn Vann, Maria Paula Alvarez and Ashley Bolin turned in a time of 3:28.13 to place 20th.
Price took TCU's top honors in the 200-back, earning 36th accolades with a time of 1:52.03, while sophomore Friedrich Grott took 40th place honors in the 200-fly, clocking in at 1:53.90. Sophomore Edgar Crespo and junior Andy Garcia-Montes turned in identical time of 2:07.27, just two one-hundredths faster than teammate Edgar Peyro. Bagby paced TCU in the 100-free at 46.06 for 59th place honors out of 106 swimmers.
On the women's side, freshman Madi Rupp earned a 41st place finish in the 200-fly, while sophomore Jennifer Oster led all Frogs in the 200-back at 2:05.47 for a 50th place finish. Alvarez ended her weekend with a clocking of 17:16.85 in the mile for a 32nd finish among 36 swimmers.
