
TCU triumphs over Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- For the second consecutive day, the woman's rifle team collected a win over the Air Force Falcons. Continuing her hot streak, Erin Lorenzen led the Horned Frogs in the victory. Highlighting the day was Lorenzen's score of 591 in air rifle. Simone Riford also had a strong day. The match was shot at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Spring, Colo.
TCU claimed three of the top-five spots in smallbore. Riford and Lorenzen took first and second, respectively. Riford's 574 was an improvement from the first of the two matches. Following Riford's score was Lorenzen's with a solid 571. Tanya Gorin claimed the fourth position with 568 points. Lauren Sullivan also had a strong showing adding to the team total with her score of 565. Rounding out the top-ten scores was Emily Paper with a total of 555 and Mattie Brogdon with a 553.
The Frogs were able to tally 2339 points on their way to victory. Erin Lorenzen led the way with a match-high score of 591. Riford and Brogdon were able to contribute with two scores that landed them in the top-five. Riford fired a 588 while Brogdon was able to turn in a score of 582. Lauren Sullivan and Emily Paper scored 578 and 575 respectively.
The Horned Frogs will stay on the road for their next match. On Jan. 24 the team will travel to Lincoln, Neb. for a match against the Cornhuskers. Last year the team beat Nebraska for the first time in TCU's history.
