
TCU rifle picks up road win

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-The woman's rifle team returned to action today against the Air Force Falcons and coming away with a victory. The final score of today's match was 4601-4560. Erin Lorenzen and Mattie Brogdon both had strong showings against the Falcons in air rifle and smallbore. Today's match was the first competition since the team returned to Fort Worth from the winter break.
Air rifle was highlighted by Lorenzen's match-high score of 589. Freshman Mattie Brogdon followed closely, trailing Lorenzen's score by two points for a final air rifle score of 587. Chipping in was Lauren Sullivan and Emily Paper who fired a 581 and 571, respectively. Simone Riford turned in a score of 568.
The Horned Frogs cleaned up in smallbore against the Falcons as well. Again, Lorenzen led the charge with a strong score of 580. Brogdon and Sullivan also added to the match with two scores of 571 and 570 respectively. Emily Paper tallied a score of 566 Simone Riford fired a 565. Tanya Gorin saw action and fired a 552.
TCU will stay in Colorado Springs and shoot tomorrow against the Falcons. Tomorrow's match will be shot at the Olympic Training Center. After the matches in Colorado, the Frogs will travel to Nebraska to take on the Cornhuskers.
