FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's and women's swimming and diving teams will play host to Wyoming on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the University Recreation Center in a Mountain West Conference dual meet.
The TCU men's squad (4-0, 1-0) is coming off of an exciting win over Air Force, where the Frogs clinched the meet in the last event. Scott McCracken, who was named the MWC Men's Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday, led the Frogs by sweeping the sprint events. Jonathon Berrettini, Kyle Callens, R.J. Hesselberg and Edgar Peyro also added event wins for the Frogs. Hesselberg was named the MWC Men's Diver of the Week for the third consecutive time this season after setting a personal best in the three-meter dive (347.33).
The women's team (4-2, 1-1) is also coming off an impressive performance, winning 11 of the 13 events against the Falcons. Freshman Nikki Pappas highlighted action by winning her first two collegiate events, while Sarah Bardwell, Nikka Campora, Meredith Grubb, Jessica Miles, Katie Rosen and Cheryl Townsend also won events.
Wyoming has only competed in one dual meet so far this season, as the men's team dropped a 160.5-127.5 decision to Denver, while the women's squad triumphed by a score of 178-122. The Cowgirls won the Denver relay meet and the men finished second to open the season. Both teams will face SMU on Friday night in Dallas, while the women will also meet North Texas.
Last season, TCU split the dual meet against Wyoming in Laramie. The men's squad came away with a 126-115 victory, while the women fell by a score of 146-97. Yousif Del Valle, Alejandro Gomez and Scott McCracken led the men by posting two event wins each. Erica Tate and Jennifer Ferguson each won two events to lead the women's team. In TCU's first year in the MWC in 2005, the Frogs swept Wyoming in Fort Worth.
