FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU swimming and diving teams will play host to UNLV on Friday at 4 p.m. at the University Recreation Center in a Mountain West Conference dual meet.
The men's squad (4-1, 1-1 MWC) suffered their first loss of the season last Friday to Wyoming by a score of 172-128. Jonathon Berrettini led the Frogs by sweeping the backstroke events and contributing to two relay victories, while Josh Bagby, R.J. Hesselberg and Scott McCracken also added event wins.
The women (4-3, 1-2 MWC) also fell to Wyoming by a score of 173-123. Freshmen Brittney Martinez and Jessica Miles and sophomores Stephanie Futscher and Natalie Melenric notched event wins in the loss. Miles won the 1000-free in dominating fashion, recording the school's fourth-fastest time of 10:22.92, which was 10 seconds quicker than the closest competitor.
The Frogs were one of 10 teams to compete against the Rebels at the UNLV Invite last December, as both TCU squads placed third. When scored as a dual meet, the UNLV men defeated TCU by a score of 162-130, while the women fell to the Rebels 189-111. UNLV traveled to Fort Worth in TCU's first season in the MWC in 2005, as the Horned Frog men fell 173-121, while the women dropped a 170-130 decision.
