Hesselberg named MWC Men's Diver of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - Junior diver R.J. Hesselberg was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Diver of the Week, the league office announced on Thursday. The weekly MWC award is the fifth of Hesselberg's career.
Hesselberg, a native of Saskatoon, Canada, earned recognition after sweeping the diving events last weekend at the CSU Early Bird Invitational. In the one-meter, Hesselberg notched a score of 289.20 in six dives to take the win. Hesselberg dominated the three-meter event the following day, earning a score of 319.65, 33.5 points higher than the nearest competitor.
Hesselberg racked up three weekly conference selections last year and also added the honor once during his freshman season.
The Horned Frogs will be in action on Friday, opening up the home slate against Centenary, Incarnate Word, Northern Arizona and UTPB.
