
TCU swimmers and divers triumph over Centenary

SHREVEPORT, La. - The TCU men's and women's swimming and diving team broke four Centenary Fitness Center records en route to victories over the Ladies and Gents of Centenary on Friday.
The men (6-2, 2-2) earned a 112-87 victory, while the women improved to 13-4 overall with a 111-80 win over Centenary.
Three women broke pool records on Friday, including Meredith Grubb, Natalie Melenric and Maribeth Pottenger. Grubb won the 200-IM event in a time of 2:12.83, while fellow freshman Natalie Melenric took the top spot in the 100-fly with a time of 58.05. Pottenger, a San Antonio, Texas, native, swam the 100-breast in a time of 1:07.55 to shatter the record.
The men's 200-medley relay team, consisting of Jonathon Berrettini, Cameron Allred, Jason Hauck and Scott McCracken, also made history on Friday, breaking the pool record in a time of 1:35.07.
Karen Sandifer was another Frog standout against Centenary, winning the 50-free (25.46) and 100-free (54.75).
TCU had nine more individual winners, which included Stuart Silver, Cameron Allred, Josh Bagby, Yousif Del Valle, Cheryl Townsend, Jason Hauck, Crystal Shipps, Jonathon Berrettini and Aran Bean.
The Frogs wrapped up the regular season on Friday, as the next action will take place at the Mountain West Conference Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Feb. 21-24.
