
TCU rides well in exhibition

WACO, Texas - The TCU equestrian team kicked off its inaugural season on Friday with a scrimmage at Baylor at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
Both TCU and Baylor split its squads in the scrimmage with TCU having one rider compete for each team in each of the four events.
With riders being split into Team A and Team B, the Horned Frogs Carrie von Uhlit led Team A in equitation over fences with a score of 65. Competing for Team B in equitation over fences TCU's Chelsea Stevens scored a 68.
The second event of the day was equitation on the flat. Competing for Team A, TCU's J.J. Wichard scored a 61. For Team B, the Horned Frogs' Erin Sciacca scored a 58.
Team B defeated Team A in English competition by a score of 523-511.
In Western events, TCU's Lauren Hitchcok tallied a 74.5 in horsemanship for Team A. For Team B, Allie Royder scored a 70.
In reigning von Uhlit scored a 75 and was the high-point rider. Royder scored a 73.5 for Team B.
Team A defeated Team B in Western events by a score of 514 to 430.5.
Next up for TCU is a scrimmage at Stephen F. Austin at 12 p.m. Sunday.
