
TCU competes in final scrimmage at Stephen F. Austin

NACAGDOCHES, Texas - The TCU equestrian team competed in its final of two scrimmages on Sunday at Stephen F. Austin.
SFA was able to top TCU by a score of 842-804, as TCU closed out its exhibition weekend after scrimmaging at Baylor on Friday.
Highlighting the day for the Horned Frogs was Carrie von Uhlit, who was named MVP of equitation on the flat and reining. In equitation on the flat and reigning, von Uhlit led each event with scores of 82 and 70.5, respectively.
Opening on equitation over fences, von Uhlit paced the Horned Frogs with the second-highest score of the event with an 80. TCU's Erin Sciacca led off the event with a 68. Lastly, J.J. Whichard posted a 65 for the Horned Frogs.
Following von Uhlit's high score of 82 in equitation on the flat was Chelsea Stevens, who posted an 81. Also competing on the flat were Sciacca and Whichard, who scored 78 and 75, respectively. TCU outscored the Ladyjacks 316-258 in the event.
In western horsemanship, SFA topped TCU 149-140. For TCU, Allie Royders scored a 71.5 and Loren Hitchcock posted a 68.5.
Joining von Uhlit in western reining competition for TCU was Royders, who scored a 64.5 in the event.
TCU will compete in its first regular season show on Oct. 7 at Oklahoma State.
