SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Quarterback Jeff Ballard and offensive tackle Herb Taylor participated in a special graduation ceremony on Monday, as chancellor Victor Boschini and provost Nowell Donovan presented both graduates with their diplomas.
The graduation ceremony took place in San Diego because both players have been in California preparing for Tuesday's Poinsettia Bowl against Northern Illinois (7 pm CT, ESPN2) since last Friday and missed TCU's Fall Commencement ceremony last Saturday.
In addition to Ballard and Taylor graduating on Monday, TCU safety Ken Lewis and running back Robert Merrill received their diplomas at TCU's Fall Commencement.
Ballard received his degree in communications and Taylor received his degree in advertising/public relations with a minor in social work. Both Lewis and Merrill graduated with degrees in speech communications.
