FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU freshman diver Jennifer Ferguson was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Diver of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. This marks the second consecutive week that Ferguson has grabbed the honor.
After setting the third-highest score in TCU history in the three-meter dive in her first collegiate meet on Oct. 25, Ferguson shattered her own mark over the next two meets. Ferguson recorded a winning score of 309.23 against Colorado State, only to improve to a score of 314.70 in the win against BYU, just two points shy of second all-time.
Ferguson also swept the one-meter diving event against Colorado State and BYU. Against the Rams, Ferguson slated a 276.00 to take the top spot, while recording the second-highest score in school history with a 297.00 against BYU.
The Beaconfield, Quebec, native went undefeated last week to improve her collegiate record to 6-0. Her scores in the one- and three-meter dives are currently first in the conference.
The TCU men and women's swimming and diving squad will travel to Colorado State, Colo., to face Air Force on Thursday at 5 p.m. The women will also meet New Mexico State.
