Today marked the 50th career win for TCU's Gary Patterson, making him the fastest head coach in Horned Frog history to reach that milestone. Patterson is 50-20 (.714) in six seasons.
Jeff Ballard improved his record to 15-2 (.882), enabling him to become TCU's career leader in winning percentage by a starting quarterback. Ballard moved past Howard Grubbs (.875, 1928-29) for the top spot.
Hobbs' 2-yard first-quarter scoring run was his 36th career rushing touchdown. He's second on TCU's all-time list, trailing only LaDainian Tomlinson (54, 1997-00).
Tommy Blake's first-quarter 20-yard fumble return for a touchdown was TCU's first score in that manner since Robert Henson reached the end zone on a 22-yard fumble return last year at Wyoming. It was Blake's first collegiate score as he became the 13th Frog with a touchdown this season.
Peter LoCoco's 44-yard second-quarter field goal was his seventh consecutive made attempt in the last three games. He is now 8-of-11 on the season, including 4-of-5 between 40 and 49 yards. Two of his three misses on the year have been from over 50 yards.
Aaron Brown's 24-yard second-quarter touchdown run was his fifth rushing score of the season. Brown and Hobbs are tied for the team lead in that category.
TCU improved to 16-3 in games decided by seven points or less since 2003.
The Frogs have won 15 straight Saturday games and are 16-1 on that day over the last two seasons.
TCU has started a season 7-2 or better for the fourth time in six campaigns under Patterson.

TCU is 11-2 in its Mountain West Conference history, including 6-1 on the road.
TCU's 14 points represented its season-high in first-quarter scoring. The Frogs have now outscored their opponents 32-0 in the first quarter of the last three games.
The Frogs have scored first in three straight games and in four of nine contests this season.
