STILLWATER, Okla. - Facing a very experienced squad that tied for second at the Varsity Equestrian Championships last season, the TCU equestrian team fell 15-1 at Oklahoma State on Saturday.
Competing in the first regular season competition in school history, the Horned Frogs were led by Carrie von Uhlit, who scored in Western horsemanship and was named MVP of reining.
"We are very inexperienced and it showed up here," head coach Gary Reynolds said. "Oklahoma State has a very sophisticated, well-trained team, and they are truly one of the strongest teams in the Nation. We learned a valuable lesson that will serve us well down the road."
Oklahoma State was able to win all of the matchups in the English division, and secured all four of the points in reining.
Saturday's show completed fall competition for the Horned Frogs, who will return to the arena on Feb. 3 against Fresno State.
