TCU Showgirls Earn First Place

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU Showgirls have started the 2005-06 year with a bang! The team took 10 Showgirls (Lindsay Nemec, Christi Day, Christie Kamerman, Krista Jenkins, Anne Hutchins, Jamie Hurst, Lorena Capellan, Amy Gilmore, Beth Christianson and Dia Wall) to the National Dance Association's Collegiate Camp hosted by Southern Methodist University over July 28-31. Competing against other prominent teams from schools such as Stephen F. Austin and SMU, the TCU Showgirls were awarded with first place in their division competition, as well as a superior evaluation.
In addition to these honors, their hard work produced a Spirit Stick and the Best Collegiate Teamwork Award. The National Dance Association staff also awarded the Showgirls, amongst the 13 teams in attendance, with the Best Team Overall Award. Showgirl Captain Lindsay Nemec was one of the five girls attending camp named to the NDA All-America Team.
Reaching their goal for attending the camp, the Showgirls received a bid to compete at the NDA Collegiate National Competition in April 2006. The Showgirls were proud to represent TCU at the event and look forward to a wonderful upcoming year.
