
Chapman Qualifies For 2008 Olympic Trials

Indianapolis, Ind. - Senior Craig Chapman finished in 14th place in the 100-meter backstroke last Saturday at the World Championship Trials held at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. His time of 57.45 seconds was a qualifying mark for the 2008 Olympic Trials. In the same event, freshman Jonathon Berrettini finished 27th in 2:07.31.
On Tuesday night, Chapman, who was swimming for the Cypress Fairbanks Swim Club, finished 20th in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:05.42. Meanwhile, Berrettini, who hails from Lewisville, finished just behind in 21st place as he touched the wall in 2:07.12.
