HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Michael Ford had 19 points and Southern Mississippi ended its season with a 66-64 upset of TCU on Saturday.
David Haywood had 11 points and Jarekus Singleton added 11 for the Golden Eagles (11-17, 2-14 Conference USA), who had lost nine straight and 15 of 16 entering their regular-season finale.
But last-place Southern Miss - with just eight players playing - shot 40 percent from the field and stunned the Horned Frogs.
Southern Miss' season comes to a close because it failed to qualify for the 12-team Conference USA tournament.
Corey Santee had 15 points and Marcus Shropshire added 14 for TCU (18-12, 8-8). Aaron Curtis added 10 points for the Horned Frogs, who are seeded eighth in the league tournament and will play ninth-seeded Marquette in the opener Wednesday.
TCU has lost four of five road games since winning at Memphis on Jan. 15.
