LAS VEGAS (AP) - Three Horned Frogs finished among the top three scorers tonight, but Drake University (3-1) found a way to slip past the TCU men's basketball team (1-3) by an 86-79 score at the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational.
Nile Murry, Blake Adams and Judson Stubbs rounded out as the top three scoring leaders in the game, respectively, with Murry named to the all-tournament team with a game-high 20 points.
Adams, who was 4-for-5 from 3-point range, had a career-high 19 points with six rebounds while Stubbs added 17 points and four rebounds.
After leading 44-40 at halftime, Drake never gave up the lead, building its largest lead at 81-68 with 5:11 left.
TCU then answered with a 10-1 run, cutting the lead to 82-78 before Stewart hit his free throws in the final minute.
Drake's Chris Bryant scored 13 points to lead the team.
Also for Drake (3-1), Ajay Calvin and Jonathan Cox each had 11 points and 8 rebounds, and Leonard Houston had a career-high 11 points.
The Bulldogs' 3-1 start matches their best since 1999-00.
Al Stewart, who went 3-for-4 from the free-throw line in the final 51 seconds, added 10 points and five assists for Drake, which shot 91 percent from the line as a team.
There were four ties and four lead changes in the first half as TCU went 10-for-17 from 3-point range to keep it close.
TCU's biggest lead came at 18-13 with 13:46 left in the half. The Bulldogs rallied and later built a 41-32 advantage with 2:48 left.
TCU returns to action Wednesday, Nov. 30, when it heads west to Lubbock for a showdown with the Red Raiders of Texas Tech. The contest will be the third in a five-game road series for TCU.
