"We are taking a positive attitude into this competition and looking to continue to improve our team average," head coach Karen Monez said.
The air rifle team will consist of Celeste Green, Emily Conway, Nikki LeCompte and Tanya Gorin. Kristine Tisinger and Aida Garcia will shoot as individuals. For the smallbore event, Green, Lecompte, Gorin and Tisinger will comprise the competition squad while Garcia will compete individually.
"I have been impressed with the progress Celeste Green has made on the practice range and her smallbore scores should reflect the advances she has made the last two weeks," Monez said. "Tanya Gorin is the most consistent shooter on the practice range and should also continue to see her match scores improve as she gains competitive experience.
The Frogs and Wolfpack have already squared off a pair of times this year with each team coming away with a victory. TCU's win came in San Francisco as they knocked off Nevada 1470-1401 in an air rifle match. The Wolfpack tied the season series up two weeks later when it took home first-place honors at the Horned Frog Invitational.
In its last competition, TCU broke three school records en route to a third-place finish at the Horned Frog Invitational. LeCompte was able to set a new standard for 60-shot smallbore while the team combined to break the school marks for both 60-shot air rifle and 60-shot smallbore.
The Frogs will look to build upon those performances and use the experience they gained in that competition when they compete against the No. 8-ranked team from a year ago, Nevada.
