RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Emanuel Mathis led five Virginia Commonwealth players in double figures with 20 points and TCU shot just 26 percent from the floor in the second half as the Rams beat the Horned Frogs 91-78 Saturday night.
TCU missed 11 straight field goals midway through the second half, allowing the Rams (5-3) to rally from a 52-51 deficit to a 62-56 lead. The Horned Frogs (4-4) could get no closer than four the rest of the way.
Domonic Jones scored seven of his 16 points in the final 3:29 as the Rams hit 10 of 12 free throws to ice the victory.
Willie Taylor added 15 points for the Rams. Troy Godwin had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Antoine Willie scored 15 points.
Junior Blount led TCU with 20 points. Bingo Merriex added 14 and Jamal Brown 10.
