FORT WORTH, TEXAS -- The TCU Athletics Department has announced that the entire allotment of student, faculty and staff tickets for the TCU vs. Texas Tech men's basketball game on Tuesday, December 3 has been distributed. The game is now officially a sellout.
"We were thrilled with the turnout this morning," said Tim George, TCU's Director of Marketing. "Coach (Neil) Dougherty has created so much excitement for TCU basketball, and this sellout is a reflection of his efforts. He has done an outstanding job of energizing the TCU community with his many speaking engagements and visits over the past few months. This enthusiasm has been picked up by the faculty, staff and students and the result is a sellout three weeks in advance of the game," added George.
Tickets to the Texas Tech game were distributed to students, faculty and staff on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 8:00 a.m. today at the TCU Student Center. Lines were forming well in advance of 8:00 a.m. and by 11:15 a.m. the entire allotment had been distributed.
To ensure admittance, students, faculty and staff who picked up tickets this morning must be at the December 3 game no later than 8:00 p.m. The game will tip off at 8:05 p.m and will follow the TCU women's game against Wisconsin-Green Bay that begins at 5:15 p.m. No student, faculty or staff person will be admitted free to the women's game without a TCU-Texas Tech men's ticket.
As always, the ticket to the game is not a reserved seat, but is a general admission ticket into the student and faculty/staff section. TCU Athletics Department officials are encouraging fans to arrive early in order to secure prime seating. In addition, this year marks the first year that students have access to seating on the floor of Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
