Jessica Hylander started her role as the Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition at TCU in 2021. Prior to her fulltime position at TCU, she was a Sports Nutrition Graduate Assistant from 2019-2021.
Hylander is a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and is a licensed dietitian (LD) in the state of Texas. Her primary responsibility is assisting in the caring for the nutritional needs of all TCU’s student-athletes primarily through team education and individual counseling. Additionally, Hylander serves as the preceptor for dietetic interns and volunteers, manages team fueling stations campus-wide, participates in an interdisciplinary team to advocate for student-athlete wellness, manages the student-athlete Performance Athletic Dining (PAD) facility, and assists in departmental management. She is passionate about mentoring, mental health, and using up to date, evidence-based research and practices to improve her athlete’s performance.
Hylander received her bachelors of science in Dietetics, with a minor in chemistry from Olivet Nazarene University. She went on to do her dietetic internship and receive a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Dominican University. Most recently, she received an additional master’s degree in Higher Educational Leadership (M.Ed) from TCU. Prior to TCU, she was involved in the Sports Nutrition Departments at both Northwestern University and the University of Florida.
