Bennett Askew arrived at TCU in October 2019 as Associate Athletics Director for Business and Finance and was promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director/Athletics Financial Officer in February 2024.
Askew oversees all financial transactions, budgets, contracts and financial planning for TCU Athletics. He also serves as sport administrator for TCU's rifle program.
Before arriving at TCU, Askew worked two years at Washington State. After coming to Pullman as Business Contracts and Fiscal Manager, he was elevated to Assistant Director of Athletics - Business Operations. Among his myriad of responsibilities, Askew served as Vice-Chair of the WSU Athletics Strategic Plan, financial sport administrator for multiple sports and the financial unit administrator for sports medicine, event and facility operations, performance nutrition, ticket operations and other support areas. He was named Washington State's Athletics Employee of the Month in March 2019.
A former baseball student-athlete at Utah, Askew began his athletics administration career at his alma mater. He was hired as the Utes' Associate Accountant in July 2011 before his ascension just over a year later to Associate Director of Business Operations. He then worked in financial analysis and management roles at the University of Utah Health before heading to Washington State.
As a pitcher, Askew made his lone collegiate start on the mound in the 2009 Mountain West Conference Tournament Championship Game at TCU's Lupton Stadium. The Utes defeated San Diego State, 9-3, that day to advance to their first NCAA Regional since 1960. He struck out a career-high six batters in 2 2/3 innings against Washington State earlier that season. He represented the baseball program as a member of Utah's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
In addition to his bachelor's degree in economics, Askew has an MBA from Utah.
Askew and his wife, Alyssa, have two sons: Johnny and Charlie.
