2023-24 | Sophomore
Competed in all four races for TCU … Named All-American Second-Team by the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association … Made her debut at the DeGray Lake Triathlon where she finished in first with a time of 1:04:14.30 (Sept. 10) … Coral’s time at the DeGray Lake Triathlon is the fastest time in program history … Coral added another top-10 finish at the Battle in the Fort Triathlon where she placed sixth with a time of 1:09.06 (Sept. 17) … Placed 27th at the USAT West Regionals (Oct. 14) with a time of 1:07:08.88 … Helped lead the Horned Frogs to Nationals (Nov. 11) where she placed 12th with a time of 1:05:10.90 … Coral posted the fastest time of any Horned Frog at Nationals.
PRIOR TO TCU
Maria Coral is one of five student-athletes in her class hailing from a foreign country, making the move to TCU from Bogota, Colombia. While attending Colegio Nacional Nicolas Esuerra, she competed in both track and swimming. She has won numerous gold medals in triathlon competition, including top honors at National Sport Games, National Inter High School Finals, Junior National Interclub Championships and National Interleague Sprint Championships. She finished in second at the 2022 America’s Triathlon Junior Cup Formosa, while qualifying to represent Colombia in the 2022 World Championships in Montreal, Canada.
