* Full-time undergraduate TCU students in good academic and disciplinary standing.
* High school seniors with provisional admission.
* Undergraduate transfer students with provisional admission.
* Candidates must be covered by health/hospitalization insurance in an amount comparable to the minimum coverage offered through the University’s student insurance program.
* Candidates must possess sufficient physical fitness and proper training to execute all required skills. We do not have a weight or height restriction as size ranges fluctuate from year to year.
What are the privileges of being a TCU Showgirl?
* TCU Showgirls get to perform and generate spirit for one of the best Big 12 athletic programs in the nation! GO FROGS!
* TCU Showgirls are recognized nationally and throughout the Fort Worth community and DFW metroplex!
* The Showgirls perform at all TCU football home games, away games, home men's and women's basketball including post-season tournaments, and home baseball games. Showgirls also travel to the end-season bowl games! Limited spots are available for travel games.
* Squad members also make public appearances and perform at many other events for the TCU Athletic Department and the University throughout the season.
* As a squad member, you have no financial obligation. All uniforms, travel and meal money, and practice wear are graciously covered by TCU!
* Showgirls often leave the program having gained lifelong friendships and lessons that they’ll carry with them into their future.
* Showgirls are fortunate enough to receive several sponsorships, strength & conditioning, PAD access, sports psychology
What are the responsibilities of a TCU Showgirl?
* TCU Showgirls is a major time commitment for both fall and spring semesters. The Showgirl year begins with auditions in April, meets again a few weeks before school starts for training and will be performing at games and go on appearances until auditions of the following year.
* Practice is canceled along with school classes during holidays. Games during these times are not canceled. All members are encouraged to perform at the Holiday games. Schedules will be available in plenty of time to plan if you live out of state.
* Practice is held 3 times per week in the early afternoon or evening during both the fall and spring semesters.
* Required strength and conditioning training takes place 2 days a week.
Does the squad compete?
* Our future program goal is to compete, however, our main focus is providing school spirit-raising techniques at all TCU Athletic Events
How many spots are open for next year’s team? Are there alternate positions available?
* There are not a set number of spots available. Everyone must re-audition every year to earn a spot on the team. We currently do not offer alternate positions, but you can always audition again next year!
