Horned Frogs Ranked Seventh in NCEA Preseason Coaches Poll

Marks the 14th consecutive season TCU opens in the top 10
WACO, Texas – Just two days before TCU equestrian's season-opening meet against South Dakota State at home, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) announced on Wednesday that the Frogs have been tabbed as the No. 7 ranked team in the country by the coaches.
The ranking was also TCU's final ranking for the 2025-26 season. This marks the 14th consecutive season TCU will open the year in the top 10.
The NCEA began ranking teams in 2017-18, and TCU is one of just six teams to be featured in every edition of the poll.
Starting with a preseason ranking, all member institutions coaches will have the opportunity to rank Dual Discipline 1-10. Rankings will be assigned a point value, and the schools will be ranked overall based on the points they accumulate from the poll.
The coaches poll will run through the fall slate of competition on a weekly basis, with the final coaches poll coming out at the end of November.
Beginning in February, the NCEA Selection Committee will release its first rankings. From that point forward the Selection Committee will release rankings on a weekly basis with the final regular season ranking announced on in March.
Following the conference championship competition, the NCEA Selection committee will release the selections for the national championship.
TCU is amidst its winningest era ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. The Horned Frogs have posted five straight winning seasons for the first time in the Big 12 era and just the second time in program history.
The Frogs are set to open the season on Friday at 10 a.m. at home, hosting South Dakota State. This season, TCU will face five teams featured in the inaugural edition of the poll.
